The Vatican v. Isreal

It seems as though the State of Isreal is in a diplomatic war with The Holy See. I think Isreal's reaction is a bit over done. What has Isreal done for the Church? When has she apologized for her discimination of Christians? When has she apologized for the fighting going on in the Holy Land which has scared Christian Pilgrims away?
Everyone seems to always want the Church to apologize to them, but are not willing to apologize to the Church for their wrongs against her.
You will never please everyone...
