Life
A lot has changed in this country since my last update. The city of New Orleans has been devastated, we inch ever closer to economic destruction because of gas prices, and John Roberts has now been nominated as Chief Justice.
As a result of the destruction in New Orleans, many of the Seminarians from Notre Dame with be coming here for an undetermined amount of time. A lot of them should arrive tomorrow. I imagine it must be tough for them, and I hope they find this place to be a welcoming place. I hope they can find some comfort here. Also, pray for all the people of New Orleans, but also the Priests. Half of the Priests of the Archdiocese of New Orleans are unaccounted for according to the Archbishop. Pray for the City of New Orleans...
I was in Washington DC yesterday and I was surprised to see how much like Rome the city actually was. I have been to DC before, but seeing it after seeing Rome it was amazing. The architecture, the monuments, the fountains all very Roman. It was also weird to know you are in the most powerful city in the world, Rome too was once the most powerful city in the world. There are very striking similarities between Rome and Washington DC.
While we were there, we also thought about the Authority of the Priest. In all reality, the Priest has more authority and power then even the President of the United States. The president can only wield temporal power, while the priest wields authority which deals with spirituality which lasts an eternity. In the end, it is the priest who can help people far more and greater then the president (or any other temporal ruler).
While, those are my thoughts for now.
