"Of course he's against abortion"
Thus are the words of Sam Alito's mother. If he is confirmed, he will be the 5th Catholic on the Supreme Court, which would be the largest group, obviously. Of course, Kennedy is somewhere out in left field somewhere, but it would still none the less be 5. It is sort of exciting for the Church because of this, 4 was the highest at one time, but 5 would just do it. If any of this makes sense LOL.
Anyway, Alito would also provide the privotal 5th vote to overturn the legal right to Partial Birth Abortion. He would only be a 4th vote to over turn Roe v Wade, but would provide an important vote to overturn at least some abortions in this country.
